It’s not really cool to brag, but did anyone tell you that the 2009 XTERRA Black Diamond was voted the

 

#1 Ranked XTERRA race in the Nation

 

Why is that??  We like to think it had something to do with an army of ridiculously enthusiastic yellow-shirted volunteers, generous sponsors, stunningly good-looking & talented athletes, Race food provided by a Black Diamond local legend, the use of 350 signs, arrows, and banners that kept athletes from taking one of 1000 possible WRONG

turns, paramedics and EMT’s that

provided some tender loving care

and good-old fashioned wound

scrubbing, traffic cops that kept

our spectators and athletes  from

getting smashed into, the cops’

radar detector, excellent camping

accommodations, a  porta-potty

the size of a small mid-eastern

country,   a devilishly good-looking and

talented race director married to an

adorable and efficient shopper, bike

and swim course directors that are

AWSOME, then there’s the city of black diamond

, city staff, nice neighbors on 312th......

..we could go on.....

I just wanted to say thank you for putting on such a great event.  It is obvious when I race an event that is put on by people who are passionate about what they do.  That is very evident when I do the Black Diamond XTERRA

Many thanks for running another fine event this year. With smooth and efficient organization, enthusiastic volunteers, and challenging technical course, racing it was a pleasure. This year's course was even better with a few tweaks to the bike loop as well as the longer run course.

XTERRA BD is a quality event to have in the Pac NW and I'll be sure to bring down a few more friends from BC next year.
