6.11.2008 - FREE RIVER RAFTING TRIP FOR 2
Through the efforts of the Middle Green River Coalition, official aid station sponsor
of XBD, we have Whitewater Rafting Trip for Two down the beautiful Green River Gorge
available for our prize giveaway on race day. The experienced guides of Downstream
River Runners will lead the adventure at the 2009 24th Annual Green River Cleanup.
Its an all day event full of exciting whitewater and stunning scenery. The Green
River Gorge is rated one of the top 10 rivers in Washington State and one of the

7.11.2008 - FORMER WORLD CHAMPION ENTERED
Jason Jablonski, 2005 Amateur World Xterra champion, will be throwing it down at
the inaugural XTERRA Black Diamond presented by Yarrow Bay Communities. In 05, Jason
won the 30-34 men’s age group and posted the fastest amateur time of the day in Maui.
Jablonski was also a member of the 2003 and 2004 4-person 24-hour MTB National Championship
teams. Jason is sponsored by Black Diamond Sports Therapy, Specialized, and Arlberg
Sports. Jason, also a Coach & Biomechanical Assessment specialist, has arranged to
donate a fit test worth $225 to our list of free prizes during the post-race giveaway.

7.11.2008 - ‘KRISS CHIROPRACTIC RUN COURSE’.....Dr. Phil Kriss of Maple Valley’s
Kriss Chiropractic has firmly planted his business on the XTERRA BD run course. And
Phil’s running buddy and fellow MV business owner, Cliff Richards, of Maple Valley
Physical Therapy, has agreed to take charge of the run course aid station. The duo
promises some memorable features on the run course, which is a 2-loop, 4.25 mile
course of logs, rocks, and hills along Frog Lake.
7.15.2008 - BLACK DIAMOND BIKE AND BACKCOUNTRY BECOMES DEEPLY EMBEDDED IN XBD
Black Diamond Bike and Backcountry, Black Diamond’s fine bike shop, has agreed to
not only provide technical support on race day, and host our packet pick-up from
12-4 on Saturday, but also to be the official sponsor of the bike course. XBD athletes
will enjoy the challenges and terrain of the “Black Diamond Bike Shop
Bike Course”
7.25.2008 - PRO XTERRA ATHLETE MIKE VINE COMING
Mike Vine, professional Xterra triathlete, will be competing at XBD. He is a 3X
XTerra Mountain Championship winner, the winner of the 2007 XTerra Brazil, and hold
3 2nd place finishes at the USA Championships in Tahoe. This year he placed 4th
overall at the All-Mountain World Championship MTB, Downieville CA. Mike will give
an XTERRA clinic at the race venue on Saturday 8/2 from 3-4pm. “I'm all excited
to be racing at this new venue. Best of all it's my favorite terrain - the rugged
trails of the Pac Northwest. I'm really looking forward to it because even though
i'm from Victoria I haven't had a chance to race north of Cali yet this year. “
7.22.2008 - AGE GROUP NATIONAL DUATHLON CHAMPION, Pat Dale, of Olympia, WA, has entered
Xterra Black Diamond as a relay participant. It took much coercing and bribing to
convince Dale to throw his hat into the ring, but throw it he has. His relay teammate
has offered Mr. Dale an undisclosed quantity of premium post-race beverages if he
agrees to put on a swim cap and a rental wetsuit and brave it on his own. The media
is standing by......
